Pray that the Holy Spirit will show you the true meaning of the verses above. Ask him to guide you as you hide them in your heart. Love really is that simple. Continue praying as the Spirit guides you.

Tomorrow is valentines day and for many of you it is a big deal. For me and my family it's just another day. We implement love every day and I'm sure that you do too. As the scripture shows us in the first picture above, we love because He first loved us. I encourage you to strive every day to be an imitator of God and and live a life of love.  Love with your actions as 1 Jn 3:18 says and remember perfect love cast out all fear. {1 Jn 4:18} Be sure to grab the free printable and post it on your fridge or in your car to remind you of what love is and is not. Lastly remember the greatest commandment of all... Love one another. 1 John 4:11

Blessings!

Love Month: 14 days to a life of love: Day 3

Day 3... Envy

Love does not envy... this is a tough one. When I began to study about envy as you know I found all negative things. There isn't one good thing to say about envy. Yet we as women have a problem with this. "I wish I had parents like that", "If only I had enough money to dress like her," "If my child was as well behaved as hers I could live through the teenage years with sanity. I just can't keep it together like she does."  You know the thoughts. Envy begins as a fleeting thought in our minds and if we let it  will consume us every time we remember the situation. Let's take a look at what is does to us.
Proverbs 14:30 tells us that "envy rots the bones."  That's pretty hard core stuff. God's answer to the root of envy is to submit your thoughts and actions to Him. James 4 tells us how to do this. Pay close attention to verses 7-10.

James 4

Submit Yourselves to God
1 What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from your desires that battle within you? 2 You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God. 3 When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.
4 You adulterous people,[a] don’t you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God. 5 Or do you think Scripture says without reason that he jealously longs for the spirit he has caused to dwell in us[b]6 But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says:
   “God opposes the proud
but shows favor to the humble.”[c]
7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. 9 Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom. 10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.
11 Brothers and sisters, do not slander one another. Anyone who speaks against a brother or sister[d] or judges them speaks against the law and judges it. When you judge the law, you are not keeping it, but sitting in judgment on it. 12 There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. But you—who are you to judge your neighbor?

I want to encourage you today to stop your self in your thoughts of envy and humble yourself. "Take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ." - 2 Cor 10:5. This is how we overcome envy and exude love.

Examine yourself today and if you have an ounce of envy get rid of it!  It will only rot you to your very core. Stop yourself so that your life my be

2 Corinthians 10:5

New International Version (NIV)
5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

Proverbs 14:30
A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones.

Job 5:2Resentment kills a fool, and envy slays the simple.

Love Month: 14 days to a life of Love: Day 2

Ok Ladies! February is LOVE month!!! The bible says a lot about love. It says that God is love and that we are to love like God loves. In 1 Corinthians there is a verse that describes love. It gives 14 characteristics of love and we are going to tackle one of those every day! Hopefully it will draw each one of us closer into a life of love!

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres." 1 Corinthians 13:4-7

Day 2 Love is KIND:

A Kind person is defined as this: of a good or benevolent nature or disposition, as a person:a kind and loving person.

As followers of Christ we are encouraged to imitate Christ in our own lives. One obvious way we can do that is to imitate the kindness and compassion that Christ showed to everyone. I want to show my son how to be a kind person. A few years back there was a big trend of random acts of kindness we were all encouraged to do towards strangers. My challenge is not going to be random, it is very straight forward. I am going to challenge you to be kind to the ones it is sometimes the hardest to treat with kindness, YOUR FAMILY. I am not sure why it is so hard to be kind to the ones we love the most, but it is. So I challenge you to love with your kindness. It could be a kind word or TONE, a gesture or action, even a complete change in attitude all together. I know for myself it is not just going to be a day of kindness but a new attitude towards the ones I love most. Being kind and considerate is going to be a new way of life! Here are some scriptures about being kind.

And be kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you Ephesians 4:32

Kind words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones. Proverbs 16:24

Those who are kind benefit themselves, but the cruel bring ruin on themselves. Proverbs 11:17

The LORD appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness. Jeremiah 31:3

Day 1
Love is
Patient:
Who in your life really test your p
atience? What are some things in your life that make you impatient? I am probably one of the most impatient people around, but I had a little boy 1yr ago and boy can I say I am learing to be patient everyday! I have learned that life doesn’t just happen NOW I have to be patient and deal with every situation as it comes. I have to pray and seek God about how He wants me to handle all of the situations that come my way. How is God wanting you to love with patience? If it is a person that test your patience ask God to help you see how being patient with that person can show them God’s love. If it is a life situation ask God to show you how to wait on his timing! If it is your child ask God to give you creativity to deal with them patiently in love.

Today focus on someone or something that test your p
atience: Allow God to come into that situation or relationship! He will help you to be patiently loving in the situation or with that person.

Here are some scriptures on p
atience:

1 Thesselonians 5:14-15
And we urge you, brothers, warn those who are idle, encourage the timid, help the weak, be patient with everyone. 15Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always try to be kind to each other and to everyone else.

Ecclesiastes 7:8 The patient in sprit is better than proud in sprit

Galatians 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing for in due season we shall reap, if we do not grow faint.
